WINTER DANCE CANCELED DUE TO SNOWSTORM

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
Students at the Polar Plunge
POLAR PLUNGE
Our Polar Plunge team raised $1,427 for Special Olympics Massachusetts last weekend!! Thank you to everyone who donated and to our teachers and students who were brave enough to take the plunge (Adam Wainwright, Peter O’Regan, Gabe Berkowitz, Jack Villiote, Chris Hardy, Dmitri Skiba, Evan Kurth, Nicolai Pipitone, Leo Theodorou, Dan Heep, Mr. Boyd, and Mr. Cooke). See you next winter!

ARMENIAN CLUB NEWS
The Armenian Club has been very busy lately!

Their fundraiser at Not Your Average Joe's raised $100 for the Armenia Tree Project (ATP) which will be used to plant fruit trees in a village in Armenia, providing the villagers with food and the opportunity to sell fruit. The ATP also visited us and gave a presentation to the Armenian Class and Armenian Club members, showing us the work they have done this past year in Armenia and how the students can volunteer when they visit Armenia. Lastly, the Armenian Club donated $200 to the Armenian Relief Society (American Red Cross equivalent) to be used for the Armenian community devastated by the wildfires in California.

These students have been working exceptionally hard and we are very proud of them!

Construction Tech Class Students
CONSTRUCTION TECH PROJECTS
Construction Technology II and Honors Construction Technology III students have been hard at work cutting and fabricating wall systems for the residential framing portion of class and implementing the quality requirements of level, plumb and square. Students have been exposed to the Massachusetts State Building Code and the critical requirements for building a wood-framed structure including nailing schedules to meet dead load and live load requirements!
LEARNING TO SAVE LIVES
To wrap up the semester, Mr. Joyce’s project adventure classes learned CPR and had the option of testing to become certified through the American Heart Association. They learned all steps to properly administer adult, child, and infant CPR. Thank you for teaching these life saving skills to our students, Mr. Joyce!

ANNOUNCEMENTS
CANCELED: WINTER DANCE
Due to the incoming storm, tomorrow's Winter Wonderland dance has been canceled. Any student who has already purchased their ticket should see Ms. Sulzman or Ms. Ollero in the main office for a refund.
ATTENDANCE WELLNESS REPORT CARDS
Report cards were distributed to all students today. If you need help checking grades online via PowerSchool, please see this helpful guide.

In addition to report cards, we also distributed brand new Attendance Wellness reports, created by our Attendance Team. The Attendance Wellness reports are an overview of each student's attendance from the first semester (Sept. 3rd - Jan. 24th). Being in school every day is vital to students' success and those with high attendance rates are more likely to graduate. We ask students and families to review the Attendance Wellness report and take time to evaluate if and where changes need to be made. Although we are just over halfway through the school year, there is still time to improve attendance!

Please see this presentation about the Attendance Wellness reports and reach out to Ms. Eaton or Ms. Taylor with any questions. Translated versions of the report can be found in this folder.

Students, teachers, and families have the opportunity to share their thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness as part of this survey about our school. We would greatly appreciate any feedback you have to offer!

REMINDER: CLASS DUES
Class dues are collected every year from every student. Dues are $15 with a $5 late fee collected after the deadline (announced by advisor). Only cash or checks (made out to the City of Watertown) are permitted. These dues go towards all class events, gifts, scholarships, and more. Students who have not paid their yearly dues will, unfortunately, be turned away from class events.

If for any reason your family needs assistance with these dues, please connect with your student's class advisor. All information will remain confidential.
